New Zealand and Denmark are using intelligent LED street light
Having been introduced,intelligent LED street light has been enjoying a great popularity in the lighting market, and now many cities around the world are eager to prepare large-scale use smart LED street light system in urban. New Zealand capital Wellington in the near future plans to become the first city using intelligent LED street light system in southern hemisphere. The city plans to replace all of the city’s municipal streetlight excluding the CBD area with intelligent LED street light, the total number of the streetlight to be replaced is approximately 18,000. These LED street lights can automatically reduce the brightness when nobody passes, while the streetlights in CBD area usually lights up throughout the night, and therefore there is not urgency and necessity to carry out the replacement of street lamp.
In Europe, the Copenhagen city of Denmark is also test the intelligent LED street lights which would be used in the city through the establishment of a common garden. In September the city will built a the test zone called “Danish Outdoor Lighting Laboratory” (DOLL) on the outskirts of Albert Sloan area where a number of the company’s intelligent outdoor lighting products will be tested. Many members of the public will also be invited to participate in the pilot test. Copenhagen city plans to achieve “carbon balance” in 2025, this experiment park established is one of the efforts to achieve this goal.
